neighbors

this is where i put sites i like visiting; from friends, neighbors, and ppl who inspire me. just so we're clear: if your site is here, that doesn't mean you have to add my button back. so don't expect that from me, ok?

visual studio code

i use the free software vs code to code and i think it's great bc you can download extensions that make a bunch of annoying and time-consuming stuff way easier. here are the extensions i use and recommend:

  • auto close tag : you open a tag, it closes by itself. the extension does the job for you.
  • better nunjucks : my theme doesn't highlight .njk files from eleventy, which is sooo ugly. this extension tricks vs code into reading it as .html so everything gets colorful and cute like it should.
  • error lens : this one straight up YELLS at you in red when there's a mistake. no way you're missing that error.
  • highlight matching tag : draws a yellow line on the open and close tag so you know exactly where your element starts and ends. no more getting lost in a sea of divs.
  • mobileview : lets you see how your site looks on mobile without even opening a browser.
  • prettier : cleans up your messy code, formats everything nicely.
  • htmltagwrap : you select some text and it wraps it in whatever tag you want.

bookmarks

  • eleventy : static site generator that updates all of your HTML files every time you change your layout, sidebar, footer... literally saved my life 💖
  • petrapixel : super helpful tutorials for both beginners and advanced folks in the art of coding.
  • cobalt : extract and download audio from instagram, twitter, youtube, tumblr and more...
  • gladia : transcribe audio to text in any language.
  • vhsearch : search neocities websites.
  • catbox : permanent file hosting, no expiration.
  • notion : free app for pc and mobile where you can take notes and organize anything.
  • gofullpage : browser extension that takes a full-page screenshot of the current site.
  • session buddy : browser extension that saves all your open tabs in case your browser crashes (happens to me more than i'd like lol), so you don't lose your links.
  • whatfont : browser extension that shows you the name of the font used on a site when you hover over the text.
